CPRA Regulations (Draft)

On 14 February 2023, the California Privacy Protection Agency (CPPA) introduced the proposed final draft California Privacy Act of 2020 (CPRA) regulations. The CPPA filed the draft regulations with California’s Office of Administrative Law so that they can review the regulations within a period of 30 days.

The Office of Administrative Law therefore has until 29 March 2023 to review the draft regulations. If they approve the draft version, they will submit the regulations to California Secretary of State for filing.

The Office of Administrative Law may reject the proposed draft regulations. If this happens, then they will send a notice to the CPPA with their written reasons for rejecting the draft.
